On 5 September 2017, when I was arrived at IIUM Campus to make enrollment at main hall CAC building, I can't imagine that a lot of people will come in that main hall and it’s really crowded. That a lot of new students who will make some registration to enter IIUM. I saw people from a whole of the world such as China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Yaman, Tanzania, Somalia, Cambodia, Saudi Arabia, etc., and all of the people even from the differences country but in their faith have the same faith are Islam. So, when you meet people or new friends in that area they will say "Assalamu’alaikum (may peace be upon you)". These sentences become password for all people in a whole of the world and it’s can make us close each other.

When we make enrollment, even though it’s very crowded but all people waited with a patient. That a lot of desk and we must queue, sometimes we can sit down but in every section, we must stand up and it starts from 9AM until 5PM. It’s an amazing journey.

Meanwhile, in IIUM area we can find a lot of independent stores that sell mineral water without the waiter. Only a special sentences we can read in that store “Please put the money in the box, thank you” – “please pay, Allah is watching you”. So, everybody can take a  mineral water even that no waiter but we must pay 1 RM and I saw all people when they take water there must be put 1RM to the box. For me as a new student in IIUM, that attitude is really interesting. That store makes a weather difference between Islam University and non-Islam University. The words “Allah is watching you” has a special message for us that we must be honest with yourself because even nobody people watching you but Allah always watching us.

It’s almost two weeks, I have been studying at International Islamic University  (IIUM) or Universitas Islam Antar Bangsa (UIA), but as a new student, I am still a little bit confused about campus location especially the administration office for International Student that the building is near from each faculty (Kulliyah).

In my opinion, IIUM Gombak Campus is one of the best campus architecture with special mapping. The building of faculty (Kulliyah) it’s just like a circle that one of each other is engaged. Furthermore, all office administration is near from faculty (Kulliyah) and near from Mosque (Masjid). IIUM Mosque (Masjid) becomes a center of our campus, it’s just like a core in the circle of all surrounding building in IIUM.So when muadzin call us for prayer time for shalat, everybody can hear the adzan and directly come to Masjid.

Other advantages from IIUM Gombak campus for us as a new students are we can walk to each of building with safety and convenience because university provides a roof for pedestrians. So, don't worry if you don't have a car, motorcycle or bicycle because we don't need a vehicle if you are studying at the campus, the important thing is just to prepare your body fit because every day you can walk minimum 2km and that can make you more healthy.

I am heard about Melaka when I was studied at elementary school. In Indonesia “Melaka” name it's not really familiar because Indonesia people more know “Malaka” and not “Melaka”. Basically, in every class of Indonesia school provide maps or Indonesia maps. When we learned geography major in elementary school, our teachers always tried to remind us to memorize a border between our country (Indonesia) and another country, and Melaka Strait is one of our border in the sea between Indonesia and Malaysia. So, all Indonesia people know Melaka Strait or “Selat Malaka” as one of Indonesia border.

On 16 September 2017, as a new Post Graduate Student in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), I got a special invitation from our campus to visit Melaka City.

It's about 160km from Kuala Lumpur City and we can go to Melaka by bus with two hours trip.

The first destination in Melaka City was “Menara Taming Sari”, our bus arrived in front of Menara Taming Sari. Menara Taming Sari is a Tower ride that we can ride that tower and we can saw a panoramic view of Melaka in the top of the tower. This tower can make circle 360’, so we can saw all Melaka City with panoramic view in the sky.

            Perjalanan Pemilihan Kepada Daerah (Pilkada) yang saat ini dilaksanakan secara serentak sepertinya terus menimbulkan banyak permasalahan baru yang berujung di Mahkamah Konstitusi. Sejak diundangkannya Undang-Undang Nomor 10 Tahun 2016 tentang Perubahan Kedua Atas Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2015 tentang Penetapan Peraturan Pemerintah Pengganti Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2014 tentang Pemilihan Gubernur, Bupati, dan Walikota Menjadi Undang-Undang sudah banyak warga masyarakat Indonesia yang melakukan pengujian undang-undang (judicial review) ke Mahkamah Konstitusi dan UU Pilkada termasuk salah satu undang-undang yang paling banyak di uji di Mahkamah Konstitusi.

            Salah satu isu konstitusional yang kembali di uji di Mahkamah Konstitusi adalah terkait dengan norma persyaratan calon peserta Pilkada yang diatur dalam Pasal 7 ayat (2) huruf g yang menyatakan : “tidak pernah sebagai terpidana berdasarkan putusan pengadilan yang telah memperoleh kekuatan hukum tetap atau bagi mantan terpidana telah secara terbuka dan jujur mengemukakan kepada publik bahwa yang bersangkutan mantan terpidana” serta terkait norma pelantikan Gubernur, Bupati dan Walikota sebagaimana diatur dalam  Pasal 163 ayat (7) yang menyatakan “Dalam hal calon Gubernur dan/atau Calon Wakil Gubernur terpilih ditetapkan menjadi terdakwa pada saat pelantikan, yang bersangkutan tetap dilantik menjadi Gubernur dan/atau Wakil Gubernur dan saat itu juga diberhentikan sementara sebagai Gubernur dan/atau Wakil Gubernur”, yang diajukan oleh Gubernur Gorontalo Rusli Habibie.

            Dalam petitum permohonannya, Pemohon (Rusli Habibie) beranggapan bahwa Pasal 7 ayat (2) huruf g dan Pasal 163 ayat (7) UU Pilkada telah merugikan hak konstitusionalnya sebagai peserta Pilkada dalam Pemilihan Gubernur Provinsi Gorontalo Tahun 2017, dikarenakan menimbulkan ketidakpastian hukum oleh karena ternyata telah ada putusan MK yang juga telah mengatur isu norma yang sama. Pemohon yang berdasarkan putusan kasasi Mahkamah Agung dijatuhi pidana penjara selama 1 (satu) tahun, dengan masa percobaan selama 2 (dua) tahun, apabila mengacu kepada Pasal 7 ayat (2) huruf g maka secara otomatis tidak dapat mencalonkan diri menjadi peserta Pilkada, sementara terkait isu norma yang sama MK juga telah mengeluarkan Putusan dalam perkara Nomor 42/PUU-XIII/2015, bertanggal 9 Juli 2015, yang menyatakan ketentuan Pasal 7 huruf g Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 2015 inkonstitusional bersyarat. Menurut Rusli Habibie, dengan diberlakukannya norma Pasal 7 ayat (2) huruf g UU Pilkada, hak konstitusionalnya untuk mencalonkan diri kembali sebagai Gubernur berpotensi terhalang. Sebab, frasa “….karena melakukan tindak pidana yang diancam Pasal 7 huruf g Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 2015 dengan pidana penjara 5 (lima) tahun atau lebih” yang semula terdapat dalam Pasal 7 ayat (2) huruf g Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 2015 telah dihapus atau ditiadakan oleh Pasal 7 ayat (2) huruf g UU Pilkada sehingga cakupan tindak pidana yang terdapat dalam Pasal 7 ayat (2)huruf g UU Pilkada menjadi mencakup seluruh tindak pidana, sehingga hal tersebut menimbulkan ketidakpastian hukum dan menimbulkan ketidakadilan bagi Pemohon.
