Melaka City
I am heard about Melaka when I was studied at elementary school. In Indonesia “Melaka” name it's not really familiar because Indonesia people more know “Malaka” and not “Melaka”. Basically, in every class of Indonesia school provide maps or Indonesia maps. When we learned geography major in elementary school, our teachers always tried to remind us to memorize a border between our country (Indonesia) and another country, and Melaka Strait is one of our border in the sea between Indonesia and Malaysia. So, all Indonesia people know Melaka Strait or “Selat Malaka” as one of Indonesia border.
On 16 September 2017, as a new Post Graduate Student in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), I got a special invitation from our campus to visit Melaka City.
It's about 160km from Kuala Lumpur City and we can go to Melaka by bus with two hours trip.
The first destination in Melaka City was “Menara Taming Sari”, our bus arrived in front of Menara Taming Sari. Menara Taming Sari is a Tower ride that we can ride that tower and we can saw a panoramic view of Melaka in the top of the tower. This tower can make circle 360’, so we can saw all Melaka City with panoramic view in the sky.
